Counters

There are two types of counter available with Black Cat Networks. We provide a text counter (which you may place <FONT> tags round for instance to improve the appearance) and a graphical counter which can take many different sets of digits. Examples of digits which will work with our graphical counter can be found at http://www.digitmania.holowww.com/

Using the textcounter

  1. Rename the file you wish to have a counter, so that it has a .shtml extension.
  2. Add the following exactly as follows:
    <!--#include virtual="/include/counter.pl" -->
  3. Upload the file and check it works by pointing your browser at that page.

This text will be replaced by the number of hits you have had on that page.

Using the graphical counter

  1. Rename the file you wish to have a counter, so that it has a .shtml extension.
  2. Add the following exactly as follows:
    <!--#include virtual="/include/grcounter.pl" -->
  3. Upload the file and check it works by pointing your browser at that page.

This text will be replaced by pictures of the number of hits you have had on that page.

Changing the graphics

To change the counter set used by the graphical counter, please look at the following pictures and then change the above line to:
<!--#include virtual="/include/grcounter.pl?countersetname" -->
where countersetname is the name listed on the left in the table below.

7seg Use ?7seg for this set
arialb Use ?arialb for this set
ariali Use ?ariali for this set
cntdwn Use ?cntdwn for this set

Use ?default for this set
fdg Use ?fdg for this set

If you don't like any of them then please create some yourself or grab some from http://www.digitmania.holowww.com/

Checking the counter values

To check the counter values all at once use the include below.

The include will be replaced with a preformated, complete list of all the counters from your root page down.

To obtain this list rename a file with a .shtml extension and add the following line:
<!--#include virtual="/include/checkcounter.pl" -->

What to do if it all goes wrong.

Changing the counter values

Visit Yali's control panel or Onza's control panel (depending on your account type) and when prompted enter your username and password then choose "Change web counter values"
