Thornton Hough Scarecrow festival 2003

Thornton Hough is the neighbouring village to Brimstage and every year it holds a Scarecrow festival. Basically it is an excuse for the villagers to show their creative side and for everyone else to walk round and gawp at the gardens. Some were brilliant, others highly tacky, the smallest were about 6 inches tall the largst were built out of the cylindrical straw bales so must have been over 30 ft. These are a selection of the ones I passed on my cycle ride round the nearby villages.

This is also the first page on my website to include thumbnail photos rather than captions. The photos are all the right way up even if some of the thumbnails are rotated.
