Welcome!
This site is designed to provide information for students planning their year abroad in Russia. The idea of spending a year in Russia can be daunting at first and many students feel that they are not given much information before leaving. This site aims to tell you most of what you need to know by drawing on students' experiences of a year spent in different parts of Russia and Russian-speaking countries. As one student said, 'Russia's always going to be a bit of a learn as you go along experience' but I hope the information, links, addresses and ideas on this site prove useful.
If you find that something is out of date, or if you have been to Russia and would like to share your experiences, please e-mail me at jec52@cam.ac.uk.
The Cambridge University Year Abroad Office website includes links and some general information about the year abroad.
